T11 Swapbody Tanks

TRANSPORT OF HIGHER VOLUME BULK LIQUIDS

Our fleet of intermodal swap body tanks are designed to non-ISO dimensions. The swap body is designed to a lower tare weight, yet the drum is larger than the frame (25ft in length) providing a higher 35,000 litre capacity compared to a standard ISO 20ft T11 tank type.

Seaco’s swap body tanks are fitted with welded vertical baffle plates to help improve safety in the anti-slosh performance in tank containers that can be caused by sudden driving conditions such as braking and cornering.

A higher payload of 34,470kg, enable the cost-efficient carriage of food-grade, hazardous and non-hazardous bulk liquids.

The authorised Dangerous Goods Advisor should confirm fitness to purpose of any tank and that the cargo is compatible and will not attack the tank vessel.  Tank containers are supplied in accordance with a signed lease and Seaco General Trading Terms.

Overview

  • Design Code: AMSE VIII Division 1 – T11 IMDG / RID / ADR-L4BN. Compliant to the mandatory requirements, specific prohibitions, and non-mandatory guidance for pressure vessel materials, design, fabrication, examination, inspection, testing, certification, and pressure relief.
  • Earth Connection/Grounding: One stainless steel lug on rear of tank frame, to help eliminate the potential buildup of static electricity and possible spark that could cause a flash fire if there is a flammable mixture of fuel and air.
  • Insulation: 50mm thick, 40kg/m3 in density rock wool with lightweight GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) cladding to aid energy efficient insulation.
  • 12 Steam Heating Runs: Providing 15m2 efficient heating surface suitable for high viscosity and solidifying cargoes during transit.
  • 500 mm Diameter Manlid: The manlid has to be the same pressure as the tank and it is held down with eight swing bolts, the wing nuts are designed with a softer metal to prevent welding together when tightened.
  • Ground Operated Air Line: 1 ½ inch dual connection stainless steel ball valve, with 1 ½ inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) connections. DN40 remote airline fitted terminating in 3/8” ball valve.
  • Top Discharge: 3 inch weld-in pad drilled with 6 x M12 fitted with bolted blank flange used when a pipe needs to be sealed off, and no fluid or gas needs to pass through the pipe.
  • Bottom Discharge: A 45° 3 inch high lift foot valve bottom discharge assembly and 3 inch clamped butterfly valve terminating with 3 inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) spigot and blank cap to isolate the flow and prevent against dirt entering the connection.
  • Safety Relief Valve: 3 inch flanged pressure relief valve, set at 4.4 bar / 64 psi pressure. Vacuum relief and flame gauze optional. Provision for a secondary relief device.
  • Thermometer: Surface sensor gauge reading -40°C to +160°C (-40°F/+320°F).
