T50 Gas Tanks

Designed for the transportation of non-refrigerated liquefied gases

SAFE TRANSPORT OF HAZARDOUS GASES

Our fleet of ISO T50 Gas Tanks are suitable for the intermodal and safe transportation of liquefied gases and chemicals under pressure, such as LPG, Propane, Butane, Anhydrous Ammonia, Propylene, Butadiene and Sulphur Dioxide.

Our T50s are available in 24,600 litre (22 Bar & 27.5 bar) and 24,300 litre (34.4 bar). Tanks can be used for domestic and international transport and for filling, draining, and temporary or back-up storage of liquefied gases.

Tanks in accordance with: T50 UN PORTABLE TANK (per special permit), TC IMPACT APPROVED, UIC, IMDG, RID/ADR, CSC, US-DOT, TIR, AAR 600, ISO, CFR49 with DOT SP14578, ISO1496/3

The authorised Dangerous Goods Advisor should confirm fitness for purpose of any tank and that the cargo is compatible and will not attack the tank vessel. Tank containers are supplied in accordance with a signed lease and Seaco General Trading Terms.

Overview

  • Design Code: AMSE VIII Division 2 – Stamp U2, with dual pressure calculation. The ASME U2 stamp is for unfired pressure vessels and compliant to ASME’s guidelines including design, fabrication, inspection, and testing, to meet U.S. regulations.
  • Safety Relief Valve: 80mm / 3 inch diameter device set at working pressure. Rupture disc and pressure gauge fitted. To help protect the tank from accidental over-pressure and implosion from unwanted vacuum conditions.
  • Sunshield: Marine Grade Aluminium Sunshield is fitted at the top of the tank shell fastened with strips, to help protect the cargo from UV light penetration from the sun.
  • Baffle Options: Vertical or Horizontal baffle configurations available to help improve safety in the anti-slosh performance in tank containers that can be caused by sudden driving conditions such as braking and cornering.
  • Bottom Discharge Assembly: With 3 Closures and standard couplings (Liquid and Gas Lines).  All valves are fitted below the liquid level and grouped together.
  • Locking Valve Protection Cabinet: Stainless steel bottom cabinet with aluminium door.
  • Liquid Phase Valve: Stainless steel, 50mm / 2 inch diameter, ball valve with ACME coupling 3 ¼ inch and cap closure.
  • Gas Phase Valve: Stainless steel, 50mm / 2 inch diameter, ball valve with ACME coupling 1 ¾ inch and cap closure.
  • Internal Zinc Coating (optional): Zinc coating provides a barrier and stops moisture from penetrating the base metal, preventing rust and helping to preserve the tanks structural integrity.
  • Level Gauge (optional): Level gauges measure the fluid or gas levels in the tank and monitor if there is any leakages or release of hazardous gas.
